Is the Special Function of the Holy Spirit
to Translate Reality into Forms?
Q: Is the special function of the Holy Spirit to translate reality into forms? A: No Beloved One. This is a very basic error. The Holy Spirit's function is NOT about "translating reality into forms" -- quite the opposite. The Holy Spirit reinterprets the dream as error is brought to truth and darkness is brought to light, not vice versa. Understanding this is fundamental to Awakening. It is impossible to bring truth to illusion or reality to fantasy. That is a fundamental teaching of ACIM. As ACIM states: "You who have spent your life in bringing truth to illusion, reality
to fantasy, have walked the way of dreams. For you have gone from waking
to sleeping, and on and on to a yet deeper sleep. Each dream The Holy Spirit does not see the body as you do, because He knows the only reality of anything is the service it renders God on behalf of the function He gives it." (T-8.VII.3.6) "The Bible says, "The Word (or thought) was made flesh." Strictly speaking this is impossible, since it seems to involve the translation of one order of reality into another. Different orders of reality merely appear to exist, just as different orders of miracles do. Thought cannot be made into flesh except by belief, since thought is not physical." (T-8.VII.7) "All figures in the dream are idols, made to save you from the
dream. Yet they are part of what they have been made to save you <from.>
Thus does an idol keep the dream alive and terrible, for who "In gentle laughter does the Holy Spirit perceive the cause, and looks not to effects. How else could He correct your error, who have overlooked the cause entirely? He bids you bring each terrible effect to Him that you may look together on its foolish cause and laugh with Him a while. <You> judge effects, but <He> has judged their cause. And by His judgment are effects removed." (T-27.VIII.9) "Bringing illusion to truth, or the ego to God, is the Holy Spirit's only function." (T-14.IX.1.4) "The Holy Spirit reaches from the Christ in you to all your dreams,
and bids them come to Him, to be translated into truth. He will exchange
them for the final dream which God appointed as the end of "The major difficulty that you find in genuine forgiveness on your part is that you still believe you must forgive the truth, and not illusions." (W-134.3)
Forgiveness is a retranslation of perception (Atonement) that is the
gateway to Reality, Which is Reality, or Knowledge, is far beyond perception and cannot be translated
or "shrunk down" to form or Without this understanding there is no experience of forgiveness, and it remains an ego concept which serves to make the error real in awareness or reinforce that illusions are true. Error must be brought to truth, and not vice versa. Reality cannot be translated into or brought into forms. Peace & Blessings.
